Let’s talk fibers
Natural fibers such as wool, alpaca and cotton are an environmentally positive choice with a number of benefits such as being renewable, biodegradable and recyclable with extraordinary thermo regulation capabilities. At KINUA Yarns, we are committed to sustainability and ethical production practices. We choose to work only with natural fibers, thus contributing to a sustainable and responsible future, free of microplastic pollution.
Suri Alpaca
Suri alpaca is one of our most adored and luxurious fibers. its unique luster and incomparable softness make it ideal for the creation of fine, heirloom garments. Combined with our merino wool fiber it makes for the perfect, luxury blend for your most cherished knitting projects. Today Suri alpacas only represent around 12% of the global alpaca population which makes it a rare and highly valued fiber.

Discover our natural dyeing technology
Color is at the heart of KINUA. From our textile studio in Lima, we develop each season’s palette through an ongoing exploration of natural dyes and their interaction with different fibers.
Our expertise in natural dyeing has allowed us to develop a palette of more than 100 colors, each carefully tested and refined to achieve depth, harmony and consistency across our yarns.
We work with a wide variety of leaves, Andean flowers, roots and botanical by-products, transforming natural materials into distinctive shades while honoring the character of each fiber.
Natural dyes have a unique affinity with wool, alpaca and cotton, creating colors with a depth and subtle variation that is inherently organic to the process. No two dye baths are ever exactly alike, and that is part of their beauty.
